There are so, so many reasons that I absolutely LOVED this wedding.....
Firstly, I adore this venue, especially at Christmastime...it has such a cosy vibe with all of the wooden features inside. Combine that with the smell of mulled wine and it's pretty much perfect!
Secondly, a couple that completely puts their trust in me makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Amelia is ridiculously talented and creative...you can see her amazing illustrations here on her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ameliaplayerart. Even though it was cold, drizzly and damp, she was determined to brave the weather and create some stunning wedding photographs. She was amazing and the portraits of her are amongst some of my favourites from 2015.
Lastly, and probably THE biggest reason that I love these photographs is because of the message I received from Amelia a few weeks ago....you see Amelia's Father passed away shortly after Christmas, it was unexpected and so so sad. In her message to me she explained that she was so pleased that they couldn't see into the future, and that her Father got to walk her down the aisle and that they had these happy memories. I am so honoured that I was able to capture this happiness, untarnished and full of life.....THAT's what is SO awesome about my job!!!
Sadly, this isn't the first time that I've photographed a wedding and then been told that a family member passed away not long after....and I'm sure it won't be the last. This is life and so I will keep putting my heart & soul into preserving these memories for the loved ones that are left behind.
